2.4VOLUME BUTTON, AUTO-START
Triggers
Recording that starts from a button press, or a timer.
A volume button press starts recording with the screen untouched, and auto-start begins a set number of seconds after launch, with no interaction at all.
DISPLAY OFF
The volume button trigger
With the hardware trigger armed, a press of a volume button starts recording, without any interaction with the screen. The system volume overlay is suppressed while the trigger is active, so nothing flashes up over the black panel.
Combined with blackout mode, this means the phone can sit in a shirt pocket or on a table and start recording from a click you'd make adjusting your volume.
Auto-start
Auto-start begins recording a set number of seconds after the app launches, with no interaction. Pair it with the Reduce White Point shortcut and a single tap on the Action Button dims the screen, opens the app, and starts the clock.
Haptics as the interface
Every start and stop is confirmed with haptics: one pulse when recording begins, two when it ends. That is the whole interface.

| Hardware trigger | Volume button starts recording |
