2.5BEHIND FACEID
The vault
Recordings that exist only where you put them.
Vault saves keep recordings inside the app's own sandbox: invisible to Photos and Files, opened only with Face ID. Nothing leaves the device.
DISPLAY OFF
Hidden from every other app
A recording saved to the vault is written into Anonycord's private app sandbox. It does not appear in Photos, does not appear in the Files app, and is not picked up by iCloud Photos sync. As far as the rest of the device is concerned, it does not exist.
The vault viewer is gated behind Face ID, using the system LocalAuthentication prompt. There is no custom PIN to forget; it is the same biometric gate that protects your banking app.
Library, Vault, or Both
The save destination is yours to choose per your threat model. Library writes to Photos like a normal camera app, with optional automatic sorting into a dedicated Anonycord album. Vault keeps everything private and on-device. Both writes a normal copy to Photos and keeps a private copy in the vault.
One honest caveat
Because the vault lives in the app sandbox, recordings stored there are removed if the app is deleted or a reinstall goes wrong. If you are documenting something you cannot afford to lose, choose Both, which keeps a visible copy in Photos and a private copy in the vault.
